Meet the locals
After dark, visit the Kangaroo Island Penguin Centre to see little penguins. Book a nocturnal tour and you’ll see Tammar wallabies, brushtail possums and kangaroos come out to play. (Please contact the tour operator as some tours may not be running at certain times of the year).
The locals have added to Kangaroo Island’s natural beauty. Wineries, Ligurian honey farms and the spirits’ distillery should all be on your “to do” list. Many businesses, like Clifford’s Honey Farm, are family owned. They’ll happily give you samples to take home. Farmers will gladly open their gates for a behind the scenes tour of rural life.
Take your pick from a host of Kangaroo Island guided tours. Take a tour of Seal Bay to see Australian sea lions up close on the beach.
Surf with the locals. Vivonne Bay has six kilometres of stunning beach and is home to Kangaroo Island’s first pro surfing tournament.
Nature’s paradise
Expect something special from Kangaroo Island’s dedicated national parks, conservation parks and beaches. Flinders Chase is Kangaroo Island’s biggest park, with must-see attractions like Remarkable Rocks.
Special experiences
Climb a lighthouse or one of many lookouts for breathtaking panoramic views. Explore cathedral-like underground caves and other geological marvels.

Kangaroo Island’s creatures are pretty amazing and so are the creature comforts.
